Sunny Wieler

Sunny Wieler is an Irish stone artist and sculptor based in County Cork. A graduate of Crawford College of Art & Design, Cork, where he studied Fine Art and Sculpture, Sunny founded Stone Art in 2005. His practice has evolved from landscaping and stonemasonry into a distinctive studio-based art practice, exploring the creative possibilities of natural stone.

Drawing inspiration from Ireland’s rich stone landscapes, Celtic art and traditional stonework, Sunny creates bespoke stone mosaics, sculptural works including dry stone sculptures. Working with materials including natural pebbles, limestone, sandstone and quartzite, his work combines traditional stoneworking skills with contemporary design, often incorporating intricate patterns and motifs inspired by the natural and cultural heritage of Ireland.

Sunny is currently preparing Works In Stone, a forthcoming book celebrating twenty years of Stone Art (2005–2025). Combining photographs, drawings and personal reflections, the book explores selected projects from his career, the processes behind their creation, and the landscapes and traditional crafts that continue to inspire his work.
